Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge

Categories: Parent's Information

It was an honour to host the regional final of the Jack Petchey ‘speak out’ challenge on Thursday evening. The opportunity to host the event is thanks to our head boy, Adam Markey, winning the regional final in 2019. It was wonderful that Adam was able to participate this time by sitting on the judging panel.

The event saw students from schools across central Essex coming to William de Ferrers to deliver speeches to the audience, with the overall winner going through to the grand finals. It was lovely to hear students from different schools working together whilst taking part in a pre-event workshop.

The musical entertainment for the evening was provided by Luca Lamberti, Olivia Hall, Adam Scott, George Hilborne and Joseph Anstead who all performed brilliantly and thoroughly entertained the audience.

Congratulations to Jack Hughes, Oscar Allan and Vanessa Peters who represented William de Ferrers School. It was an absolute pleasure to watch them take part. Their speeches were sharp, polished and confident and they deserve to feel very proud of how they have developed their presenting skills.
