News from the PE Department
The year 7 and 8 girls football teams finished the year on Wednesday with another fantastic performance against Moulsham High School. Both teams played extremely well, particularly the year 7s who remain undefeated this season, winning 2-0.
The year 8s fought hard in their game against a strong attacking side but unfortunately lost 5-2. Player of the match for year 7 was Belle Pasquale and for year 8 Louisa Sambell. Well done to all of the girls that took part.
The PE extra curricular clubs for this term have now finished and will start again on the first week back in January 2020. It has been another great term for PE extra curricular.
We would like to take this time to thank all of the students that have given up their time to join us after school and compete in our matches. Thank you to parents who support, picked up and drop off the students so they can take part.
Next half term each year 7, 8 and 9 PE group will be taking part in cross-country in their PE lessons. We would like to remind all students that for these lessons they can bring hats and gloves and need to be wearing appropriate footwear for the session (these include football boots, astro turfs or old shoes that can get muddy).
Shoes should be separate to what students would use for any of their indoor PE lessons. Students also need to bring a suitable carrier bag or a boot bag to avoid the rest of their PE kit being covered in mud.
If your son/daughter is not taking part in PE for any reason, they must still bring their PE kit with a note. This enables them to take part in additional roles. Extra layers or a coat is needed to ensure students remain warm throughout the duration of the lesson.
Thank you for your support and have a lovely Christmas break.
