PE
Welcome to our department where sport and healthy active lifestyles matter.
Our mission:
“For all young people to make progress in their physical, thinking and social attributes through high quality physical education in order to meet their full potential and lead a healthy, active lifestyle”
Our department consists 10 great teachers alongside some amazing facilities. These include: 3 indoor halls, a climbing wall, four trampolines, a swimming pool, 3G all weather pitch, a sprint track, throwing cage and fitness room.
The PE department aims to develop a high quality physical education programme with the emphasis on enjoyment and lifelong participation in physical activity. We offer a diverse curriculum from Years 7 to 11 to help students develop the knowledge, motor and social skills, as well as their self confidence, leadership and resilience to achieve their goals and reach their full potential.
Lessons are challenging but inclusive and are designed to stimulate, enthuse and enable students to gain personal satisfaction from their participation and personal achievements. A warm and welcoming environment is created by all the staff.
To compliment this fantastic curriculum, we offer an extremely wide range of extra curricular activities after school. These include competitive sports such as Football, Basketball, Rugby, Netball, Athletics, Cricket and Rounders as well as more fun and recreational activities such as climbing and trampolining & fitness.
We are extremely fortunate to have full use of the fitness gym which is used before and after school to encourage all students to lead a healthy active lifestyle.
