Key stage 3 PE (year 7-9)
Next half term each PE group will be continuing with fitness as one of their PE lessons. We would like to remind all students that for these lessons they can bring hats and gloves and need to be wearing appropriate footwear for the session. These include football boots, astro turfs or old trainers that can get muddy. This footwear should also be separate to what they would use for any of the indoor PE lessons or for the rest of the day around school. Any additional footwear should be brought to school in a carrier bag, to stop any mud going on to their books or other items whilst in their bags.
Students not participating in PE lessons
A gentle reminder that if your son or daughter is not taking part in PE for any reason, they must still bring their PE kit with a note. This enables them to take part in additional roles. Extra layers or a coat is encouraged to ensure they remain warm throughout the duration of the lesson.
Extra curricular activities
In January we will be re-evaluating the current situation in the hope to start our extra curricular programme. Any updates regarding this will be shared via the school website and Google classroom.
Sports Partnership Update
Nearly 2,900 primary pupils from 16 primary schools across the sports partnership took part in our virtual cross country competition this half term. This is an amazing achievement considering the weather conditions recently and restrictions imposed due to Covid-19.
Four schools from across the sports partnership also took part in the national virtual Santa Dash as part of the school games recently, which saw almost 800 pupils running as far as they could in 15 minutes.
Virtual competitions will continue next half term with football and netball challenges, archery and boccia competitions.
