Pay Scale:             L20-24 (£75,331 to £83,081)

William de Ferrers is looking to appoint a Deputy Headteacher to join us in our exciting educational journey as our school becomes part of a strong and supportive trust, the Chelmsford Learning Partnership, committed to delivering excellence in education.

About the role:

You will be taking a lead on behaviour and standards across the school, supporting the school as we embark on this new chapter. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of our students and contribute to the continued success and growth of our school within the trust. You will join our new Executive Headteacher and Head of School in September ensuring that, together with the wider leadership team, we continue to drive our school forward.

As Deputy Headteacher responsible for behaviour and standards, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the ethos and culture of our school, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every student can thrive. You will lead on whole school behaviour management strategies, to ensure high standards of student conduct and attitudes to learning. You will also play an important role as part of the wider safeguarding team as one of the schools Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads. You will work collaboratively with staff, students, parents and external agencies to promote positive outcomes for all our students.

About you:

As a practitioner, you will believe:

  • that a structured and clear approach to behaviour management contributes to a positive learning environment
  • in promoting a culture of responsibility and respect among students and the wider school community
  • in whole school approaches, involving collaboration between staff, students and parents to create a positive school culture

You will also be passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of young people and will have the skills and experience to lead on standards and behaviour in our school. You will be aligned to the school values of 'Aspire, Persevere, Achieve', as well as sharing the trust's unashamed ambition that is focused on the achievements of our students.
