Students and staff have raised the bar with fantastic sixth form examination results

Students and staff at William de Ferrers School are celebrating their tremendous successes today as they have secured the highest A-Level results for 8 years and the highest ever results when including vocational qualifications.  60% of students attained A*-B grades, or the equivalent, with A-level grades alone at 51%. A remarkable 78% of entries were graded A*-C with a 99% overall pass rate.

Students have achieved particularly well in maths where an incredible 43% were awarded A*-A grades.  We are also very proud of the results achieved in many other departments, notably in chemistry, English and drama.  In chemistry students achieved 67% A*-B grades, in drama students achieved an outstanding 100% A*-B with a superb 47% awarded A*-A grades.  The English department achieved an impressive 89% A*-C in English literature.  Performance in vocational subjects was again outstanding with virtually all grades scoring distinction or higher.  These fantastic results are a reflection of the tireless work of our committed staff and the motivation of our highly driven students.

A particular well done to the students achieving at least 3 A or distinction grades: Dominic Borley, Matthew Gordon, Rachel Dickerson (head girl), Maya Gladman, Jennifer Jones, Megan Jones, Sam Smith, Rose Walker, Jessica Rawlings, Josh Turner, Ciara Morgan, Lauren Basgallop, Chloe Brown, Elyse Gateson, Jonathan Gibbs, Lisa Hansell, Abbie Latcham, Abi Pearce, Abby Price, Sarah Rook, Jordan Smith and Luke Stuart.
