School Drama Production

Categories: Just for fun

Rehearsals are underway for this year’s drama production ‘Ebony Scrooge’. (Mrs Anstead’s interpretation of the infamous ‘Christmas Carol’).  Over 60 students in years 7-9 are involved in the production including a very committed and enthusiastic back stage crew. It is also fantastic to see many of our sixth form helping in rehearsals and supporting our younger students.
The cast are working incredibly hard during rehearsals as they tackle the demands of delivering lines, singing and dancing. It is also worth noting that we have some teachers and staff of William De Ferrers taking part in one of the songs in the production and their rehearsals have also been going well (well, maybe going well is slightly optimist but they are giving it a good go!)
We are only four weeks away from the opening of our production and Mrs Anstead is working at a frantic pace in order to be ready. We are in desperate need of any spare cutlery such as forks and spoons for one of costumes. If anyone has any spare, the drama department would be extremely grateful if they could be donated to the production.
The performance of Ebony Scrooge will take place in the Dame Elizabeth Hall on the 05 and 06 of December at 7.00pm. In addition to this, the cast will also be performing to over 320 primary pupils who will be attending a matinee performance on the 04 December.
Students will be able to purchase tickets, which will be going on sale very soon, at lunchtime outside the drama office costing £4.00.
