Notifiying Parents of a School Closure

Should it be required, we will alert parents with any school closure information on our website and by text messages sent to parents via the school ‘InTouch’ messaging system. Please ensure that the school has an up-to-date contact number for you recorded on the school system. If you need to update your contact details, please contact the school on 01245 326326 or by email to: mainoffice@wdf.school

The school will also aim to have the appropriate message loaded onto the school switchboard as soon as possible.

Parents will also be able to see the full list of school closures on the Essex County Council website. The page can be accessed at: http://www.essex.gov.uk/Education-Schools/Schools/Dates/Pages/Emergency-School-Closures.aspx

Alternatively, visit the Essex County Council’s homepage at www.essex.gov.uk and search for Emergency School Closures. Once a notification is submitted by a school it is instantly displayed on the Emergency Closures page. The page will update as and when notifications are received, therefore it is recommended to continue to check or refresh the page.
